We also pride ourselves on how breathable, comfortable and luxurious feel of our fabrics – because we stick to natural processes and eco-friendly manufacturing principles, our fabrics have a unique, amazing feel and is super soft to the touch.
Because of the quality of the fabric, our clothing lasts longer and provides a comfortable fir that is flattering no matter your shape or size. We make real clothes for real people.

We are 100% eco-friendly, and always put the environment first

The Earth Collection is all about the conservation of our natural resources and making as small an impact on nature as posible. We do this by supporting only sustainable end ethical farms and keeping eco-friendly standards high when we manufacture our clothing.

  • We were the first company to receive the European Ecolabel award in 2008.
  • We use natural fibres or recycled fabric rather than synthetic fibres made from the oil industry, which is a non-renewable source and non-biodegradable.
  • We use only AZO-free dyes and dyes that contain no heavy metals to minimise waste water.
  • Our representatives personally visit each factory that we work with regularly to ensure decent conditions and for quality control.
  • All our prints are water-based. All hang tags are 100% recycled cards with water-based ink. All our labels are 100% cotton using water-based ink.
  • None of our clothes require dry cleaning – which is a chemically heavy process.
  • Our buttons are made from natural materials: mother of pearl, coconut shell, cotton-covered or metal that is biodegradable.
  • We do not have extra buttons inside our garments to reduce waste, as studies have shown that more than 99% are normally not used.

Why Choose TEC

At The Earth Collection, our focus and priority lies with providing eco-friendly clothing that supports the environment and promotes sustainability and conservation oof natural resources every step of the way.
We want people to love wearing our clothes as much as we love making it. We use only 100% natural fabrics from sustainable farming practices. An added benefit of this is that our fabric feels smoother and softer, wears better and lasts longer. We value a sense of comfort and breathability in garments, not to mention accessibility to people with sensitive skin or allergies.

Our fabric is made from all natural fibres that are naturally biodegradable and not as harsh on the environment as synthetic fabrics, which has a much harsher impact on the environment. Our processes are also eco-friendly in that they are less energy-intensive and uses much fewer chemicals. We use organic and recycled fabrics and materials where possible to further reduce the impact on nature and be more eco-friendly.

Only natural fibres such as from cotton, linen and bamboo is used in the manufacturing of The Earth Collection clothing range. Buttons are manufactured from natural materials such as shells, wood, mother of pearl and coconut casings. To ensure 100% use of natural materials, even the clothing tags are manufactured from recycled paper.
Our garments are made of breathable fabrics and are light, cool and comfortable to wear. The items are designed to be worn in a layered fashion, allowing you to mix and match to create your own personal style. Our clothes are also very durable, which means you can keep wearing them for longer and reduce your fashion footprint. The quality fabrics drape beautifully and fits any form or shape.

We use only sustainable natural resources

Fabrics

The Earth Collection uses only sustainable resources that are grown in environmentally friendly and ethical circumstances, where sustainable farming principles are championed.

cotton 150x150 FabricsCotton
Cotton is undoubtedly the most popular natural fabric of all time, with a history dating back at least 7 000 years. Versatile and durable, it is also extremely breathable and gentle on the skin. Comfort comes in part from the fibre’s capacity to work moisture away from the skin quickly. As far as we are able, The Earth Collection chooses to use hand-picked cotton, avoiding the chemicals used in machine harvested cotton. We offer a line of 100% organic cotton clothes for women and babies.

hemp 150x150 FabricsHemp
Hemp is among the world’s most durable and eco-friendly natural fibres. Hemp farming requires very little water and it can be grown without herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers. Additionally, hemp renews the soil with each growth cycle because it is a nitrogen-capturing plant. Its long roots prevent soil erosion and hemp produces more fibre per acre than trees. Nothing is wasted in the hemp production process. The seeds are used to make oil and food supplements while the stalks are used for fibre. Clothes made from hemp are light weight, breathable, absorbent, long lasting and four times stronger than cotton. Hemp is UV-resistant, helping to block out the sun’s harmful rays, as well as working moisture away from the body. Our hemp products are blended with cotton to create garments with a lovely soft feel.

ramie 150x150 FabricsRamie
Also known as China grass, ramie has been used for clothing since 3 000 BC in Egypt. The long, fine ramie fibres are extremely strong – even when wet.
White and lustrous with an almost silky appearance, the fibres have an unusual resistance to bacteria and moulds.
This elegant and refined natural fabric is extremely absorbent which makes it very comfortable to wear, especially during warm weather.
Ramie has excellent abrasion resistance and dries quickly. It is also often mistaken for linen, to which it is closely related. However, ramie creases less than linen. We often blend ramie with cotton.

silk 150x150 FabricsSilk
Silk is spun by silkworms during cocoon construction. Silk is extraordinarily strong and resilient. We blend silk noil – raw silk – with cotton to create garments with versatility, wear-ability and comfort. Silk noil has a natural appearance, characterised by uneven yarns, nubs and colour variations.
Besides being a beautiful fabric, silk noil has virtually no negative impact on the environment as no chemicals can be used in production.
Garments made from silk are temperature regulating, as the fabric works moisture away from the body. This makes them warm in winter and cool in summer. Silk also retains its shape, drapes well, caresses the figure and shimmers with a lustre of its own. When blended with cotton, either woven or knitted, the combination provides an excellent mix of warmth, absorbency and breathability.

Production Process

We do not harm the environment when manufacturing the fabrics

Pre-wash
Impurities such as dirt or grease are removed using a very mild soap solution or with enzymes. We gently bleach our fabrics using hydrogen peroxide which harmlessly dissolves in water and air. This is also good for the environment and our workers.

Dyeing
None of our dyes contain heavy metals or carcinogens. All water in our dye houses is cleaned and recycled. You can purchase our garments knowing that all of our dyes are free of AZO – a dye agent which has been linked to various forms of cancer.

After treatment

No harmful softeners or surface treatments are used to achieve the soft handling feel of our fabrics: instead we use enzymes or mechanical means such as brushing up the shorter fibres to create the finishing soft touch. To reduce shrinkage, we also treat the products with a mechanical process called sizing.

All product tags and cartons are made from recycled paper. The inks on the tags and labels are water-based. Leftover fabrics from production are reused wherever possible; our signature “rag bag” is a perfect example of reusing the fabrics.
